The agribusiness sector has a crucial role in the economy of Sierra Leone but is facing a lot of challenges, which can be tackled by providing capacity building and training opportunities to local farmers to flourish sustainable agriculture development more rapidly.
The chamber collaborate with the Government in developing strategies, policies and programmes for promoting, facilitating and supporting private investment in agricultural development and the implementation of these strategies, policies and programmes at the national and international levels.
The Sierra Leone Chamber for Agribusiness Development (SLeCAD) is a forum of agribusiness business operators, companies, and industries with interests in promoting agribusiness private sector investment and agro-industrialization in the agricultural sector.
As a private sector body, SLeCAD was established with the prime objective of promoting agribusiness private sector development, particularly is establishing platforms and facilitating interactions for agribusiness, partnerships, trade and investment in agriculture in Sierra Leone.
