SLeCAD Participates in HASTEN Study Tour on Food Systems Transformation in Ireland

The Sierra Leone Chamber for Agribusiness Development (SLeCAD) proudly participated in the HASTEN Study Tour on Food Systems Transformation held in Ireland from 27th April to 3rd May 2025. The program brought together agribusiness leaders, policymakers, and development partners to explore Ireland’s world-class agricultural systems and innovative approaches to sustainable food production.

The week-long study tour provided participants with valuable insights into Ireland’s research-driven agricultural models, advanced technologies, and efficient food value chains. Through site visits, expert presentations, and interactive sessions, SLeCAD gained firsthand exposure to best practices that have strengthened Ireland’s global reputation in sustainable agriculture and food systems management.

SLeCAD intends to apply these key learnings to improve agribusiness competitiveness in Sierra Leone. By integrating modern agricultural techniques, fostering innovation, and promoting sustainability across the value chain, the Chamber aims to support ongoing national efforts toward food security and economic growth.

This participation reinforces SLeCAD’s commitment to driving meaningful transformation within Sierra Leone’s food systems and supporting the development of a resilient, productive, and market-oriented agribusiness sector.
